OK Electronics is an LG authorized service center. LG sends its own in-home warranty repairs in the Richmond area to us — including OLED panel and main board replacements — and we work from LG’s own service manuals and procedures on every LG set, in or out of warranty.

What usually fails on an LG

Backlights and main boards share first place; power boards, T-Con boards and connectors make up the rest. Boards and connectors are repaired in your home. Backlights are the exception: that job needs the panel out on a clean bench, so we take the set with us and bring it back. Some panel faults can be recovered at component level — on the address boards, where the design allows it — and we check for that before calling a panel dead.

OLED

OLED sets have plenty of faults that have nothing to do with the panel: power supply, main board, T-Con, connectors. Those are ordinary repairs, and we do them. The OLED panel itself is case by case — under warranty it is an LG panel replacement done to LG’s procedure; out of warranty we tell you honestly whether it makes sense.

What we will tell you straight

We do not diagnose over the phone and we do not ask for photos first — the same symptom can be any of several parts, and only the diagnostic tells which. Physical and water damage we decline. Older LGs are usually worth repairing. On a small set we will tell you plainly that the diagnostic alone costs about what a new one does, and if the model is a known problem we will say we would not recommend it. The decision stays yours, and if you want the set repaired we fix it.

Parts and timing

Genuine LG parts through LG or its authorized distributors, usually 3–5 days, sometimes longer. Exact price and wait after the diagnostic; nothing ordered without your approval.
